After studying at Australia's Royal Melbourne Institute of
Technology and the Otis College of Art and Design in Los Angeles,
Saja designer Yoo Lee entered the fashion industry working with
various designers in both the designer and contemporary markets.
Upon its premiere in February 2000, Saja was chosen from among
350 competing lines in the Henri Bendel design casting call to
grace the Henri Bendel New York front window.
Saja customers were responding quickly to the fresh take on
femininity in Lee's designs including noted stylists and
celebrities. In February of 2006, Saja opened it's first
flagship store in the quaint and hip neighborhood of New York
City's Nolita. This was an idea in the making for many years
because it offers customers an outlet to experience the aesthetic
behind Saja's unique style. With clean and modern furniture,
designed personally by Lee with the collaboration of Space M,
Saja's New York boutique is a perfect reflection of the collection
as a whole.
Seven years after its successful Los Angeles launch, Yoo Lee
decided to relocate Saja's corporate headquarters to New York
City's Garment District. "With a new home comes a fresh and
modern look," Yoo Lee expresses. "New York itself is now taking
the role of the muse behind the latest collections. Along with her
newfound inspiration and love for the art world, Lee is excited
to portray femininity in a fresh and contemporary manner,
illustrated by the very environment that surrounds her.
Saja is sold to over 300 stores throughout the United States
and may also be found in Puerto Rico, Canada, French West
Indies, Spain, England, Ireland, Japan, and Indonesia.
